Internet Society India Delhi Chapter

About

Internet Society India Delhi Chapter

ISOC Delhi is a non-governmental organisation that promotes and develops the Internet for everyone. It brings together people who want to strengthen the use, maintenance, development, and technology of the Internet in urban and rural communities across India.

Mission

The primary mission of ISOC Delhi is to support and promote the development of the Internet as a global technical infrastructure, in line with Internet Society goals: an Internet that is open, globally connected, secure, and trustworthy. When people can get access to the Internet, it can change just about everything. The chapter focuses on building and supporting the communities that make the network work, and on assisting policymaking and the development of Internet infrastructure.

Purpose

  • Supports open development of the Internet, education wherever the need exists, and the professional development of the people who keep it running.
  • Provides reliable information and discussion forums on how the Internet evolves.
  • Gives a platform for community engagement and self-governance, and a focal point for people who want the Internet to remain a positive tool.
